during the "World Day for Cultural Diversity for Dialogue and Development" event at the United Nations Headquarters in New York, representatives from the Permanent Mission of the Republic of Sierra Leone to the United Nations and the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York, alongside members of the Organization for the Promotion of World Cultural Diversity, gathered to discuss the relationship between artificial intelligence (AI) and art.In his address, Sierra Leone’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Kamara, emphasized that "Technological development should serve as a bridge to connect different cultures and promote mutual understanding, rather than creating division and inequality. The rapid advancement of AI presents both opportunities and challenges for the arts; the key lies in how we utilize it."Jimmy Woo, founder of the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York, delved into the relationship between AI and art, and its impact on the arts. He pointed out that technologies like 3D design are quietly transforming the ways people create, showcase, and promote fashion. He believes that the integration of art and technology will greatly propel the fashion industry forward.The event featured a panel discussion on the transformative impact of AI on the creative industries, with participants including Annetta Georgia, a professor from Parsons School of Design, and Jimmy Woo, among others. The panelists evaluated the impact of AI on cultural diversity and economic development from various perspectives.
